Campus Expansion Demolition & Recycling

The Challenge:

A large-scale demolition project required the removal and disposal of thousands of tons of concrete and brick from an old structure, with a tight deadline and a commitment to sustainable building practices.

Our Solution:

Gorilla Materials provided on-site crushing services, deploying a mobile crushing plant to process all concrete and masonry debris directly at the job site. This eliminated the need for hundreds of truckloads to haul waste off-site.

The Outcome:

The processed material was recycled into high-quality ABC stone, which was then used as the foundation base for the new construction, saving the university significant costs on both disposal and new material acquisition.

Municipal Roadway Rehabilitation

The Challenge:

An extensive road repaving project generated a massive amount of old asphalt pavement that needed to be removed efficiently and cost-effectively to minimize traffic disruption and stay within the municipal budget.

Our Solution:

Our fleet of trucks provided coordinated hauling services to remove the milled asphalt from the work zones and transport it back to our facility. The material was then processed into recycled asphalt millings.

The Outcome:

The county avoided high landfill fees, and the recycled millings were later purchased back at a competitive price for use on road shoulders and rural access roads, saving taxpayer money and closing the recycling loop.

New Facility Site Development

The Challenge:

Preparing the site for a new research facility involved extensive land clearing and grading. The project required disposal of stumps and debris, as well as sourcing of various foundational and landscaping materials.

Our Solution:

Gorilla Materials acted as a full-circle partner. We accepted all land-clearing debris at our facility. Subsequently, we delivered tons of compactable fill dirt for grading, ABC stone for building pads, and premium screened topsoil for the final landscaping.

The Outcome:

By using a single, local partner for both debris disposal and material supply, UNC streamlined logistics, reduced truck traffic, and ensured the project stayed on schedule and on budget.
